[6558] GRAVNER + MASSIMO LUNARDON COPPA 600ml
Story
"The idea to create a wine glass in the shape of a cup occurred to me in the year 2000 during my visit to the Caucasus. While traveling in Georgia, seeking amphorae to bury in my wine cellar, I happened upon a monastery in the hills of Tbilisi. The monks welcomed me with polyphonic praise of wine, which they then offered me in a simple clay cup. Savoring wine from a cup was a completely different experience. I now feel that it is more intimate, simpler, humbler, and more respectful of the wine than drinking from a stemmed glass."— Joško Gravner, November 2011
One day, Josko Gravner was deeply impressed by the glassware designed by Massimo Lunardon at a restaurant, prompting him to immediately visit Massimo’s atelier. Massimo perfectly understood Josko's vision, and they instantly agreed to create a special wine glass together. Today, this exclusive glass is distributed solely through official Gravner agents.
The aroma and taste remain perfectly pure; the wine floats gracefully within the palm of your hand.
Beautiful Curved Lines
In the Gravner Glass, your wine relaxes in a large, round bowl defined by beautiful curves, revealing its true characteristics without bias, exaggeration, or distortion. While originally crafted specifically for Gravner’s amber wines, this versatile vessel beautifully enhances any white, red, or rosé wine, as well as Champagne and sake.
Stemless Design
Gravner glasses feature a stemless design, allowing the wine to rest closer to your hand. This creates a unique drinking experience, evoking the sensation of cradling the wine directly in your palm. Additionally, the absence of a stem significantly reduces the risk of breakage—addressing one of the core vulnerabilities of traditional glassware. Lightweight and durable, these glasses are also effortless to carry, making them ideal for outdoor events or BYO (bring your own) occasions.
