Free Ride, making its debut, is a white wine made from 100% Jacquère sourced from Savoie. To be honest, we are not very familiar with wines from this region, and as we do not work with any producers there, we are unable to offer an accurate assessment from the perspective of Savoie’s regional characteristics.

Frédéric Cossard is known to craft unconventional wines from grapes sourced outside his home region Bourgogne, so judging from the name alone, we suspected this might be one of those. However, upon opening, it turned out to be a classic and well-composed wine. On first tasting, its clean acidity stood out, giving a tightly structured impression. While not overtly expressive or distinctive, iit captivates with its vibrant sense of life. Truly a Vin Vivant from Frédéric Cossard.

When tasted again about a month later, it seemed almost like a different wine, with the fruit gaining notable volume. The palate had transformed into something more dynamic, with a sense of momentum as if driven by centrifugal force. Whether this change is intrinsic to the wine itself or influenced by external conditions is unclear, but in any case, it shows that this wine is very much alive and highly responsive.
