Based in Avize, a prestigious village in the Côte des Blancs, Etienne Calsac is one of the most exciting young growers (Récoltant-Manipulant) in modern Champagne.

Since taking over his grandparents' vineyards in 2010, Calsac has transformed the family estate by championing organic viticulture, biodiversity, and minimal intervention in the cellar. He meticulously tends to 2.8 hectares of old vines spread across prime terroirs in Avize, Grauves, and Bisseuil. Utilizing indigenous yeasts, barrel fermentation, and low dosages, Calsac crafts champagnes that are praised for their crystalline purity, laser-like minerality, and vibrant energy.

L'Échappée Belle

Serving as the perfect introduction to his distinctive style, L'Échappée Belle Extra Brut is Etienne Calsac's flagship cuvée. Primarily composed of Chardonnay sourced from the premier cru village of Grauves and the grand cru slopes of Avize, this Blanc de Blancs captures a breathtaking sense of place. 

The name translates to "The Beautiful Escape," reflecting its lively, uplifting character. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of crisp green apples, white flowers, and citrus zest, complemented by subtle notes of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, the wine is laser-focused and energetic, balancing a rich texture with a chalky, mineral-driven finish. It is a stunning expression of contemporary grower champagne, perfect as an elegant aperitif or paired with seafood.
