Made from Gewürztraminer supplied by a friend in Alsace. While details are not disclosed, the grapes come from a Grand Cru vineyard in northern Alsace. The fruit shows full ripeness and concentration, yet the clean acidity gives the wine a sense of freshness. Slightly cloudy, it also has a nectar-like density.

As is often the case with pét-nat, the effervescence is not strong and there is little visible fizz. On the palate, you feel only a faint prickle of gas. Rather than treating it as a sparkling wine, it is best enjoyed as a high-quality Gewürztraminer.

Under INAO regulations, wines made in Burgundy from Gewurztraminer cannot display the grape variety on the label. As a playful workaround, the sound combines “Guy Wurtz” with “Gewurz,” evoking an Alsatian character.
