B204 LA FERME DE LA SANSONNIERE VdF ROSE D'UN JOUR 2022 750ml
Rosé d’un Jour is made from 40-year-old vines of Grolleau Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon, with some residual sugar.
With the 2023 release (2021 and 2022 vintage), Mark and Martial Angéli adopted a more minimalist label. Previously, detailed information—such as residual sugar levels, yields, SO₂ usage, and Demeter certification—was included. These specifications are no longer indicated.
That said, this is not a significant concern, as the domaine’s philosophy and practices are already well understood.
It is one of Angéli’s masterpiece wines and widely regarded as one of the finest rosés in the world. Made from the Loire Valley’s traditional grape Grolleau Gris, it is crafted into an elegant sweet wine through the use of naturally occurring botrytis. Among the recent wines of La Ferme de la Sansonnière, it is the only cuvée produced using botrytized grapes.
“Rosé d’un Jour” (“rosé of days gone by”) is in fact a playful parody coined by Mark Angéli, gently poking fun at the modern, mass-produced sweet rosé known as Rosé d’Anjou.
* Rosé d’un Jour (literally “rosé of a single day”; here we render it more freely as “rosé of days gone by” to reflect its fleeting, nostalgic character and the story behind the wine).
