The 2020 vintage was made from well-ripened fruit and is now beginning to show an added sense of maturity, bringing greater nuance and depth. It makes you realize—almost in passing—that Rosé d’un Jour is, after all, a wine.

It is one of Angéli’s masterpiece wines and widely regarded as one of the finest rosés in the world. Made from the Loire Valley’s traditional grape Grolleau Gris, it is crafted into an elegant sweet wine through the use of naturally occurring botrytis. Among the recent wines of La Ferme de la Sansonnière, it is the only cuvée produced using botrytized grapes.

Could this be a mistake for Rosé d’Anjou? Not quite. “Rosé d’un Jour” (“rosé of days gone by”) is in fact a playful parody coined by Mark Angéli, gently poking fun at the modern, mass-produced sweet rosé known as Rosé d’Anjou.
