6379 GERARD SCHUELLER ALSACE PINOT GRIS LE BILD ET LEON AVANT 2014 1500ml

This cuvée is a blend of Pinot Gris sourced from two distinct lieux-dits: Oncle Léon and Bildstoecklé.

When it first arrived, it was extremely taut—steely in its minerality and driven by pronounced acidity—to the point of being rather austere, so we set it aside. After several years, it has reached a superb state. Only now, after 12 years, has the freshness of the fruit begun to emerge. Bottled in a 48 cm-tall magnum, it may require a bit of care when it comes to storage and chilling before serving, but it is well worth the effort.
