[2023 Feel Good]

The 2023 Feel Good is a thrilling wine that walks a fine line: bold yet graceful in its refinement. The texture is beautifully fine-grained, with fresh lemon and pear fruit interwoven with delicate minerality. It’s wonderfully fresh but never rough. Young natural wine producers often make charmingly naïve wines, but this one comes from a master of natural wine who has reached full maturity. (Incidentally, Cossard has declared in recent years that he is skeptical of the “natural wine boom” and prefers not to be categorized under that label.)

[Feel Good]

"Feel Good" is made from Savagnin. They are not permitted to label the wine as 'Savagnin' if it was vinified outside Jura, even if it is classified as Vin de France. The name 'Feel Good' comes from a play on words: Savagnin > Ça va bien > Feel Good, reflecting his fondness for wordplay. The wine is made from Savagnin from vines over 50 years old, fermented with wild yeasts, and aged in egg-shaped cement tank or qvevris for nearly a year. This version is aged in cement tank.

[Jura Series]

Frédéric Cossard Jura Series: In 2016, Burgundy suffered from frost, resulting in a severe shortage of grapes. Jean-François Ganevat, Frédéric's friend from Jura, helped him find a source of high-quality grapes from Jura. Frédéric Cossard treated these healthy grapes in his manner, producing vivid wines. Red wines were made from whole bunches—a method rarely used in Jura, where grapes are usually de-stemmed—and he also experimented with skin contact for some white wines. The results were satisfactory, leading him to continue the 'Jura series' in subsequent years.
