This is a precious bottle of Domaine de Chassorney from the legendary Frédéric Cossard era. The two Volnay Premier Crus represent the absolute crown jewels of the domaine’s portfolio.

As expected, long-term cellaring has enhanced the wine's density and richness. It has transformed into an utterly gorgeous wine, now displaying a finer, smoother, and more seamless texture.

Although the 2020 was approachable and charming right from the start, five years in the cellar have brought out a grander, more opulent bouquet. It has transformed into a spectacular, fully open wine that gives everything it has. The 2020, in particular, feels like a definitive expression of the Les Roncerets terroir.

Le Ronceret is a lieu-dit bordering En Champans. This Le Ronceret is located to the north of the other Chassorney's Volnay 1er Cru, Les Lurets, with Les Aussy (also a 1er Cru) lying between them. Although their elevations are almost the same, the character of the wines produced differs. The wine produced from Vieilles Vignes over 70 years old planted on 0.29 ha tiny plot is highly concentrated and rich in tannins. It has a fine texture with a refined and robust structure.
