6371 GERARD SCHUELLER ALSACE PINOT GRIS RESERVE 2014 750ml

This wine, simply labeled Pinot Gris, is a blend from several lieux-dits and serves as something of a standard bottling in Schueller’s lineup, yet its flavours are distinctly individual, with fruit, minerality, acidity, and herbal notes all melded into one. While many Alsace Pinot Gris wines are sweet, this one is dry and vividly acidic — a bottle that is unmistakably Schueller through and through.

“2013 Pinot Gris gained more weight in three years” was my comment in the early 2020s. Several more years have passed, and the 2013 Pinot Gris has clearly moved into a new stage. Its opulent golden color, with orange peel and apple flavors, gives it a mature impression.
