A masterpiece from Bruno Schueller. Bildstoecklé is one of Gérard Schueller’s flagship vineyards, along with Pfersigberg and Eichberg.

Bildstoeckle lies within the village of Obermorschwihr, which borders the village of Eguisheim. At an altitude of 280 to 300 meters, it is a southeast-facing slope with limestone soil derived from an ancient sea, with a slight clay content. Schueller family has planted Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir in this vineyard.

Its firm structure, dense fruit concentration, complexity, and overwhelming sense of scale make it a site that no one would dispute as Grand Cru, even if it were one.

Usually, Bildstoeckle Gewürztraminer shows lychee and apple flavors with crisp acidity, but this 2016 is a little different. It is thick, highly concentrated, powerful, and rich. Another side of Bildstoeckle. No doubt, 2016 will have a long life.
