Bartolo Mascarello Barbera d'Alba is a magnificent expression of one of Piedmont’s most beloved indigenous varieties, crafted with the same uncompromising, traditional philosophy as the estate’s legendary Barolo.

Sourced primarily from choice plots including the prized San Lorenzo vineyard, the wine undergoes traditional fermentation followed by careful aging for around 18 months in large Slavonian oak casks. Rather than masking the grape with small new oak barrels, this classic approach respects the natural character of the fruit. 

The result is a Barbera of remarkable depth and energy. It beautifully balances the variety's signature vibrant acidity and lush dark cherry flavors with a round, savory complexity and a touch of mineral elegance. While it offers immense pleasure in its youth with its juicy, forward profile, it also possesses a serious structure and excellent ageing potential.
