Situated between Châteaux Lafleur and Pétrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus took its name in the 18th century. La Fleur-Pétrus is composed predominantly of Merlot, which lends silkiness and generosity to the wine, while a small percentage of Cabernet Franc contributes rigor and complexity. The vineyard is made up of three parcels on the Pomerol plateau, with altitudes averaging 33 to 38 meters above sea level. Blended together, these three singular terroirs produce a generous, expressive wine with an apparent structure and a dominance of black fruit. (Moueix Official Page)

Château Providence—our clients and passionate wine lovers may remember for its eight distinct vintages released between 2005 and 2012. Located between Ch. Hosanna and Ch. Lafleur, Providence produced deeply concentrated wines from its clay-rich soil. The Moueix team brilliantly decided to merge this specific terroir into Château La Fleur-Pétrus. The integration of the former Providence plots infused the wine with a powerful, clay-rich depth, elevating Château La Fleur-Pétrus to new heights of strength, structure, and complexity.

The high point of the Mouiex portfolio this year is the beautiful 2022 La Fleur-Pétrus, a wine that derives from a number of prime clay-gravel parcels on Pomerol's plateau. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis and cherries mingled with hints of orange zest, pencil shavings and toasty oak, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and fleshy, with an ample core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, perfumed finish. Seamless and complete, it will offer a broad drinking window. RP94-96

In bottle, the 2022 La Fleur-Pétrus is broad and unctuous, offering up aromas of Agen prunes, dark berries and cherries mingled with notions of sweet spices, licorice and raisin fruitcake. Full-bodied, rich and chocolaty, it's ripe and heady, with an ample core of fruit and a sweet, lingering finish. The warmth and sunshine of the vintage is on full display. RP94
