In comparison, Savigny-lès-Beaune is slightly more shy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut we shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Savigny-lès-Beaune is bound to show immense improvement in about six to ten months. While tightly wound right now, hints of a weightless, ethereal quality are already peeking through. Once the wine opens up and releases its floral elements—one of the true hallmarks of this appellation—it will combine with that ethereality to become beautifully clean and gorgeous. This location is doubly ideal with the effects of global warming: the cool air from the forest coupled with the high altitude result in slow ripening. As a result, the long hang time enables the sugar ripeness to synchronize with that of the physiologic ripeness. Mélange of red and dark fruit. Palate: ample, well structured. Dense with aromatic complexity. Lingering finish.
